I’ve been testing Windows 11. It has exciting features, but it still has some bugs, so, to me, it’s still in beta!
Windows 10 is quite efficient, and it’s still maintained with security updates. IMHO, it’s not worth upgrading now.
Besides, Windows 11 requirements are pretty high, especially with hardware. You’ll need the Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 2.0, and a significant part of enhancements require recent graphic cards and processors.
In addition, there’s a chance you’ll need to modify settings at the BIOS level to enable TMP as this chip is indeed not enabled by default.
You can use the Windows 11 assistant to force the update or even download the .iso and install it by yourself with a USB key, for example, but, to me, it’s a lot of extra work for a fairly mediocre result.
It can probably wait a few weeks. In any case, save your work before trying anything adventurous.
Microsoft said that Windows 10 would be the last version of its operating system, but this announcement is now obsolete.
